Doctors appt

Andy had his latest doctors appointment today. He is 21 pounds 8.5 ounces, 10-25%tile. and 31 inches 50%tile. He also got 2 pokes (shots). He is perfectly on track, if not a little underweight. I wonder where he gets that from?:) He loves to play chase, he will walk down the hallway and try to get you to chase him. He even will laugh and throw whatever is in his hands so he can walk/run faster. He also loves to play peek-a-boo. He will laugh and giggle, he would love to play for hours on end. He even tries to say peek-a-boo. It comes out Peeaboo. He says Dadda, some times Momma. He loves to climb over, under and around everything!

Two big deal guys in the cycling world. They were very sweet and took pictures with Andy. Keith even liked Andy so much he took pictures of Andy and put them on his blog!
excerpt from Keith's blog...
"Also, dedicated follower of fashion that I am, I scored a new pair of square Oakleys, bright white. Hey, I am traveling around and have to look the part, right. So this guy shows up at the breakfast and totally humbles me. It's hard to be on the front when it comes to fashion I guess..." the picture of the guy who humbles him... Andy in his sunglasses!

We Baptized Andrew at St. Therese Church in Alhambra today. Both Steve and I were Baptized here as well. My cousin, Fr. Greg Goethals, performed the service and our Nephew and Niece, Michael and Katie McGinley are Andrews Godparents. Andrew was very well behaved didn't cry at all! His little feet were moving a mile a minute when the water was poured on this head though. It was a wonderful day with Family and a few close friends. Steve's cousins, Kathryne and Tim even came out from Wisconsin.

When she fell she landed on the bricks and broke the top of her leg right below the hip joint. She had surgery that night and has been in the hospital and rehab since.

We had a Dr. appointment today. Baby still has not come!! They took another ultrasound and said the machine registers that the baby is 10.6 pounds! Rachel the technician says it is probably closer to 9.5...Still not what Molly wanted to hear. Dr. Jick said to be prepared for a possible c-section. We go to Huntington Hospital tomorrow morning at 5am to be induced. Next update will be about our new family member!!

10-1-07

We saw Dr. Jick, we thought we might have a baby today, but no. He is just not ready to come. Dr. Jick says all is looking well. His heartbeat is still strong and he is still kicking. We have another appointment on Thursday 10-4.

9-28-07

Molly had an ultrasound today. Baby looks good, Rachel thinks he is about 8.5 pounds. But she said he has a big head!!! Maybe this weekend we will have a little guy.

9-27-08

Our due date is tomorrow. The White flag is out, but no baby yet! He is waiting for the checkered flag. We went to the doctor today and he has not dropped at all. Dr. Jick did say he thinks it could be this weekend. Molly goes back for an ultrasound tomorrow to find out how big he is, check back then to see the update.

9-18-07

We had a Doctors appointment today. Dr. Jick still feels he is a big guy. His heartbeat is still nice and strong. He has not yet dropped at all, but Steve is feeling we will have him by this weekend. Molly is starting to feel uncomfortable and heavy, thank goodness her last day was Friday 9-14-07!

9-11-07

We had our latest Doctors appointment today. Dr. Jick says that the little guy is turning into a big guy! We had a sonogram and they feel he is about 8 lbs. Molly is measuring about a week ahead of her due date. His heartbeat is a steady 138 BPM. He is still moving around a lot. They said the cord is wrapped around his neck a little bit, but not dangerously so. More like a priest wears a stole then like a scarf. Molly's last day at work is Friday 9-14-07, hopefully she gets a few days off before the little guy is born.

9-2-07

Tonight we went to Grandma's (Sue) retirement party. We had a great time and saw lots of friends and family. It was also Grandma and Grandpa's (Sue and George) 40th Wedding Anniversary! As a surprise we had a cake made to look similar to theirs and bought a cake topper that was similiar too. It was lots of fun to see their faces when they turned around and saw it. Also, Aunt Lorraine, Cousins Missy and Rich were also there just like 40 years ago!
It was very very hot this week. It was about 104 all week and our house never cooled down. This will be one summer we will remember!

8-31-07

Molly's best friend delievered her beautiful baby girl today. Lauren Noelle Sarti was born at 5:22 pm, 6 lbs 9oz 20 1/2 inches long!! We are so exicted to meet our little guys special girl. Mom is doing great and dad is over the moon!

8-29-07

We saw the doctor today. The baby's heartbeat is 144, perfect. And we met Dr. Jick. Since our doctor had her baby on 8-8-07 we will probably be delivered by Dr. Jick. Molly had the Strep B test and we will get the results next week. Dr. Jick said Molly is measuring big and felt around and asked if anyone had told us we are having a big baby?? uh NO!!!! Needless to say, Molly was not to happy about that comment. Dr. Jick wants us to have another sonogram to see if he is correct and we are having a big baby.

8-24-07

The Little guy is getting BIG, he is starting to run out of room and pushing to see his limits. He is still about a month away, but we are getting very excited to see what he looks like. Daddy built the stroller and the swing. The carseat is ready to go, bags are packed and we are almost done with Lamaze class. So we are getting ready. Added some new pictures, Molly is getting big too!

Steve and Grandpa finished painting the nursery. It looks great and we can't wait to put all the stuff back in there. It is all coming together nicely. We will pictures up when it is done.

8-7-07

We had a doctors appointment today and got to see the the little guy again. He is doing well. We could see that the has hair on his head. He kept sticking his tongue out and his hands were in front of his face most of the time. Molly had about 1/2 a cup of Coffee before the appointment and he was very active! They told us that he measures about 5lbs 9oz but that it is possible that is an over estimate and he is closer to 5lbs. They also said that he has a big head!!! Molly was not happy about that news!

8-4-07

Today was Molly's last shower given by her best friends Nancy Sarti, who is due the beginning of September, and Cissie Andrews. It was a wonderful party with good friends and great food! That Cissie sure can cook. It was great to see everyone, Thank you all!! You can see pictures from the party at http://www.phaneuf.shutterfly.com

8-3-07

Today we had another doctors appointment. The baby is growing and so is Molly! The little guys heatbeat was 151 BPM, which they said is perfect. The Little guy is about 4 pounds and 17 inches long. He now has toenails, fingernails and real hair (as opposed to peach fuzz) growing on his head. Molly is feeling him kick a lot more now. And even Steve gets to enjoy feeling his "karate chops".

7-17-07

7-6-07

Molly had her Glucose test today. Those of you who know Molly, especially Dr. Winegart, know she HATES needles and will do anything to get out of them. Today she had to have a blood test, drink more of the sweet orange soda and be tested every hour after that for three hours. They took five vials of blood. Molly was a trooper, but felt a little sick later. Hopefully this test she will not flunk.

7-5-07

We had our doctors appointment today. Molly has finally gained weight, 5 pounds. Baby Phaneuf is about 2.5 pounds and is about 15 inches long. He can blink his eyes and has eyelashes. We can feel him kick quite a lot now days. Steve was very excited to feel him kick 6-26-07. We found out Molly flunked he Glucose test, she needs to go have a 3 hour one now. We also had a 3D ultrasound done, Rachel the technician took about 57 pictures she put on a disk and a CD and we got a DVD she also printed out some color and black and whites. We added some of the fun ones to the website. At first he had his hand over his face, but when Molly moved to her side he moved as well and we got some great pictures. The one of him smiling was right after Steve said come on little guy move for me. He loves the sounds of Steve's voice. When Steve says "again" as in kick again, he always does!

7-2-07

Molly had the second Glucose test. We should get the results soon

6-29-07

Doctors office called and said they had just recieved a call from the lab, Molly was worried... There was a crack in the vial, Molly has to take the test again!!

6-28-07

We had a doctor's appointment today. We are now 24 weeks. We did not get to see the baby, but we were able to hear his heartbeat, 154bpm. Both Molly and baby are progressing nicely. Now the baby weighs about a pound and is about 12 inches long. Pretty lean still, but he will fill out proportionally. This week his taste buds are developing. We can't wait to find out what his favorite foods will be.

Earlier this week, Molly had a candy and a few minutes later noticed a little someone moving around a lot!! We think someone may have inherited his father's sweet-tooth! Molly is feeling him move around a bit now, mostly at night when it is time to go to sleep.

We have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for the beginning of July so stay tuned for BabyTV!

5-14-07

We had our latest Doctors appointment and Ultrasound. Everything looks great. We watched the heart pump blood. They lit up the ambilical cord with colors and we saw the three veins in the cord, which is very important. We saw the bladder full and then empty. The little guy is currently about 10 oz. and 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom. But no maternity clothes for me yet! :) His heartbeat was 145 bpm, his heartbeat slows as he gets bigger. The pictures are starting to look more the same, but we will add one when we have a 4D done.

4-10-07

We had two doctors appointments today. One with Rachel the ultrasound tech and one with the surgeon.
Rachel said all looked good. Baby is about 4 ounces and is about the size of an avocado. She confirmed that we are having a BOY and took lots of pictures to prove it. :)
The surgeon was called in to an emergency so we saw one of his partners. He said he thought he assisted on Molly's surgery, he looked thru the notes and said he must be wrong. At the end, he suddenly said "oh, your pregnant. I was in on your surgery. Your gallbladder was terrible! You are so lucky you had this surgery when you had it, you were really sick." Molly could have told them that!! :)

4-9-07

Well it has certainly been an interesting week! On early Saturday morning 3-31-07, Molly had a major gallbladder attack. After four hours in immense pain, we went to the ER where they did tests and confirmed she still has gallstones and gave her some morphine. Tuesday, Molly was scheduled for a laparoscopic Cholecysteotomy, gallbladder surgery, at the Huntington Memorial Ritz Carlton (oops I mean Hospital).  All went well, but they decided to keep Molly as her gallbladder was very infected and in bad condition, according to her surgeon.  Her OB also came to visit and was glad she had it removed! Her white blood cell count was also pretty high. It's been a painful week, but Molly seems to be bouncing back pretty well. And the little Guy held on the whole time!, I think we got a tough one!

3-23-07

Today we had our doctors appointment we were supposed to have on 3-20-07. Steve and I both got a terrible flu on Monday 3-19-07 so we had to reschedule. We had another ultra sound and blood test that will help rule out Downs Syndrome in the baby. I thought it was going to be a 4D but it wasn't, we have decided to have one later though. As Rachel, the ultrasound tech, was doing the ultrasound, Steve figured out the sex of the baby.  Rachel agreed with him. So we know what we are having. :) We have a picture we will put on the website later.

3-14-07

Today we had our latest appointment. They told us we are 12 weeks exactly today. I don't understand this math, before we were 11 weeks on Friday and somehow 40 weeks is 9 months, whatever!

We saw the baby again. He/She has gotten a lot bigger and is now about the size of a lime and weighs a half ounce. We saw the heartbeat again. It looked like the flutter of a hummingbirds wings. We could see the legs, arms, head all of it. They couldn't get a good picture because the baby looked like She/He had the hiccups and was bouncing up and down not cooperating... must be a Phaneuf!

We have a 4D sonogram on 4-20 so be sure to check back then for updates!

2-20-07

We had our first doctors appointments today: They confirmed we are 8 weks and 4 days. The due date is either 9-28-07. Everything looks great and the heartbeat is nice and strong. We even got baby's first pictures and video!

The beginning

I am redoing my blog from my old website to the new, this was started in Feb 2007

I was scheduled to have gallbladder surgery on 1-26-07 and Lasik on my eyes 1-31-07. Much to my surprise, when I went in for my preop on 1-24-07,I was told I couldn't have surgery because of my pregnancy!!!!

As many of you know, we have been working on a baby for five years now. After lots of doctors appointments, painful shots, tests and surgeries (mostly on Molly!!!) we decided to take another route. We stopped!  Later, we found a supplement online that people have had success with within six months or less. Well it only took us a month and a half. We are currently seven weeks pregnant, soon to be eight. We know it is early, but we just couldn't keep the secret anymore!
